This case study on containing the Marburg Virus Disease outbreak in Ethiopia in 2025 is the first part of the ASPHER series “Public Health Memory Capsules”: Educational materials for the ASPHER community. It is a series of educational materials based on remarkable or highly significant events in public health history, including very recent ones, that offer important lessons for contemporary public health and health care professionals.
This case study is based on the work of the ASPHER Public Health Emergencies Task Force and may be used freely for educational purposes.
