From September 2022 to July 2024, the Medical University of Gdańsk, as a leader, implemented the project entitled “Improving public health education in response to pandemic and post-pandemic challenges”, funded by the National Agency for Academic Exchange under the Strategic Partnerships 2021 competition (project number BPI/PST/2021/1/00077).

The project was implemented in partnership with ASPHER-affiliated schools of public health: Maastricht University (Netherlands), University of Porto (Portugal), Andrija Stampar School of Public Health (Croatia), EHESP (France) and CM UJ (Poland).

The project aimed to build strategic partnerships with leading schools of public health in Europe in working to improve the quality of public health education by developing new content and teaching methods related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The results planned in the proposal were: 2 in-person meetings, 10 training courses for project participants and Partner staff, 6 study tours to project Partners, 4 study visits of Partner representatives to MUG, 5 sets of new teaching materials. As part of the project, 37 people took part in international mobility, 139 people took part in training activities, 15 teaching videos were prepared in various language versions.

The long-term effects of the cooperation are the internationalisation of the unit and lasting relations with the Partners, enabling the creation of further projects in the area of science and teaching.
