Task Force on Migration & Public Health

banner

The Task Force on Migration & Public Health (TFMPH) was established in 2026 to provide a collaborative platform for ASPHER academics interested in undertaking and developing joint international research and education on migrant and refugee health, and related public health issues.

The overarching aim of TFMPH is to enhance academic discussion and the exchange of ideas, and to scientifically assess existing public health solutions or initiate new ones, with accompanying scientific analysis. This is to inform appropriate responses regarding migrant health and promote international cooperation on:

  • ensuring equitable and sustainable access to healthcare for migrant and displaced populations, with due consideration of the needs of the population of a hosting country or region,
  • supporting access to healthcare at places of residence in countries that are sources of migration, often forced by humanitarian and public health crises,
  • supporting access to healthcare at all stages of migration, including returns and repatriation.

TFMPH serves as ASPHER's specific and thematic forum for purely academic collaboration, without involvement in political activities at any national or supranational level. It provides a safe, comfortable space for collaboration and idea exchange across the ASPHER community.
