ASSETS Mentoring Summer School: Call for Participants
ASPHER’s ASSETS Mentoring Summer School is returning to Zagreb, Croatia from Monday - Thursday 06-09 July 2026! This will be the second edition hosted by the Andrija Štampar School of Public Health, University of Zagreb School of Medicine. We are thrilled to announce that the 2026 ASSETS will be led by faculty mentors Josep Figueras, Director Emeritus, European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies; ASPHER Executive Board Member Mzwandile (Andi) Mabhala; and 2020 ASPHER Štampar Medallist Selma Sogoric. They will be joined by an exciting lineup of Guest Faculty. Please encourage your senior students, alums and junior faculty to attend! Send expressions of interest to assets@aspher.org.

35th Anniversary of the Institute of Public Health Jagiellonian University Medical College
The Institute of Public Health at Jagiellonian University Medical College is celebrating their 35th Anniversary from 18-19 June in Krakow, Poland. Public Health in Poland and Europe will be featured throughout the event which focuses on Security, Governance, and Education. Jagiellonian University has been with ASPHER from the start, joining ASPHER in 1992 and hosting ASPHER’s Annual Conference in 1994. We look forward to celebrating together in Krakow and Milan!
University of Montreal renews the mandate of Dean Carl-Ardy Dubois
The School of Public Health, University of Montreal has announced the renewal of Dean Carl-Ardy Dubois’ mandate until 2031. “Thanks to his unifying leadership, remarkable management skills, and results-oriented approach, Carl-Ardy Dubois will be able to maintain the momentum that allows the School of Public Health to be a driving force for innovation in the service of public health,” said Rector Daniel Jutras. Doctoral candidate Opeyemi Kolade was awarded best abstract at the 4th Swiss Implementation Science Conference/IMPACT Conference 2026with her work on ‘Engaging Older Adults and Informal Caregivers to Improve Hospital-to-Home Transitions: Insights from a Citizen Panel.’
BGU Research Associate and Ashkelon Academic College Associate Professor Keren Dopelt’s work was recognised as a most-viewed paper in 2025 in the journal Nutrients for her publication on ‘The Impact of Social Media on Disordered Eating: Insights from Israel.’ Read the article here.

Take Action on Climate Change and Health

This is a unique chance to influence the EU’s future relevant policies and ensure that public health is recognised in how Europe prepares for and responds to climate change. In collaboration with the Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education (GCCHE), Global Network for Academic Public Health (GNAPH), ASPHER is launching a new Community of Practice to support faculty members in integrating climate change and health into Public Health education.
