Health Equity Research Alliance launched at RCSI, Dublin, Ireland
A new Health Equity Research Alliance (HERA) has been launched by RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Dublin, uniting researchers, international experts and people with lived experiences in advancing equity-informed and inclusive health research. The launch marks a significant step in strengthening collaboration to tackle the structural barriers to equitable health research and, in turn, reduce unfair health inequalities. Read more here.

Care4Health E-Platform Online Course on Contemporary Challenges in Healthcare
Angela Boškin Faculty of Health Care, Slovenia, partner to the Care4Health project, shares their launch of a comprehensive online educational programme designed to address key contemporary challenges in healthcare. The programme is intended primarily for graduate nurses and other graduate health professionals who wish to update and expand their knowledge in a flexible, accessible and time‑efficient way. EHESP webinar series co-organized with REFESP
L’École de Hautes Études en Santé Publique (EHESP), France, is co-organising a webinar series with the French-speaking network of schools of public health (REFESP). The first, which focussed on The Shortage of Healthcare Workers in Africa in Light of the WHO's Revision of Density Thresholds was held on 26 February with the recording to be made available soon. 4th Annual Meeting of the JRP Healthcare Infrastructures Platform coordinated by the Design & Health Lab at Politechnic of Milan
The 4th Annual Meeting of the JRP Healthcare Infrastructures Platform of the Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, coordinated by Stefano Capolongo and the Design & Health Lab was held on 24 February in Milan. The event brought together 200 participants from 48 partners to present results of research from institutions, universities, hospitals and industrial partners as part of a new phase of renovation of the Italian healthcare building stock. More than 40 new hospitals are now being planned or built around Italy, a historic step that requires new skills and innovative tools to design a new generation of healthcare infrastructure. WHO renews EASP designation as a Collaborating Centre
The World Health Organization (WHO) has renewed the designation of the Andalusian School of Public Health (EASP), Spain, as a Collaborating Centre for Primary Health Care. Granted by the WHO Regional Office for Europe, the designation recognises the EASP’s technical, scientific and training capacity. It formalises a structured collaboration for the period 2025–2029, with specific terms of reference and a defined work plan. Read more here.
WHO is organising a Global Forum of WHO Collaborating Centres bringing together experts from hundreds of institutions designated as WHO Collaborating Centres across more than 80 countries. The Forum will take place from 7-9 April in Lyon, France on the sidelines of the One Health Summit 2026, hosted by the Government of France. We look forward to hearing back from the many ASPHER members hosting WHO CCs that will be there!
Europubhealth+ 20th Anniversary - Consortium Universities in Granada
The Europubhealth+ international consortium, which this year celebrates 20 years of uninterrupted collaboration in excellence training in public health came together in Granada Spain for a meeting hosted by the Andalusian School of Public Health (EASP). The meeting brought together academic and management leads from all partner institutions across Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Poland, the Netherlands, Ireland and Belgium to review the programme’s evolution, share teaching experiences and advance the strategic planning of future editions. Call for Contributions: National COVID-19 Lessons Learned
The ASPHER Public Health Emergencies Task Force is calling for member contributions on National Lessons Learned from the COVID-19 pandemic. The material is intended to be used to develop a short discussion paper and as a signposting resource for future work, that can be used by ASPHER colleagues for their teaching and for further comparative investigations across countries. Congratulations to former ASPHER Fellow Rana Orhan
Former ASPHER Climate & Health Fellow, Rana Orhan has taken a new position as Senior Advisor on Policy Evaluation at the Netherlands Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. They will focus on strengthening the Ministry’s budgeting, implementation and accountability; and advise on health policy. This comes on the heels of Rana’s successes as Health Lead at the social research consultancy, Ecorys. Congratulations Rana on this exciting new chapter!
