Pandemic Treaty vital to protect the health of millions
24 May 2024

ASPHER endorses the statement of one its members, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), in its call to ignore misinformation and unite against pandemic threat.

We agree that attacks on the draft pandemic agreement and the WHO threaten to undermine the world’s preparedness for the next pandemic.

We further support the statement by the LSHTM with other prominent UK health academics.

Open letter to UK politicians on the WHO and the pandemic agreement

ASPHER’s briefing paper on the Pandemic treaty, and the actions we need for better global health is available here.

ASPHER has a strong record in supporting international efforts to protect health against infectious and environmental threats, which do not stay confined within national boundaries. Health is global, and we must secure international agreements to improve and protect the health of the people we serve.
